Asbury Park Shows the Goods at etc...'s Underwear Show
Robb C. Sewell READ TIME: 5 MIN.
Well, you know the age-old question that everyone asks: boxers or briefs. But as you also know, underwear is so much more than simply boxers, briefs, and tighty whities. There are also jockstraps and thongs and bikini briefs. And don't forget about the ever-popular boxer briefs. They come in all kinds of colors, designs, and patterns; something for every man. Yet, they all have one thing in common: they're sexy as hell!
Last week, in the aftermath of an ice storm that pummeled the northeast, man's favorite article of clothing - the skivvy - was on display at an underwear fashion show and sale in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
Organized and hosted by etc..., a popular Asbury Park store, and held at Georgies, dubbed the "gay 'Cheers' of Asbury Park," the fashion show proved to be a fun and memorable night with handsome, buff models showing off their bodies and muscles, and strutting around in provocative underwear from some of the world's most talented fashion designers.
The underwear show and sale was the brainchild of etc... owner Bob Reuter, who described it as an opportunity to not only sell excess inventory at a discounted price, but to also introduce people to his store and all it offers.
First opened in 2001, Reuter purchased etc... in 2004 and soon added men's clothing, loungewear, and underwear to the many unique staples that the store sells. Suffice it to say, the skivvies etc... sells aren't ones you'd typically find in brand name and discount department stores. Hell, no! etc...'s undies are bold, edgy, and sexy. And they look damn fine on the male body!
While the models were indeed one of the highlights of the fashion show, there is no denying that the skivvies were the stars that night. Designer brands on display, and available for purchase, included Piss & Vinegar, LazzyBum, Frank Dandy, and Mundo Unico.
Piss & Vinegar, with styles reminiscent of pop art, and LazzyBum, with playful and oh-so-revealing designs, are both the creation of Jason Sutherland, the brains behind the uber-popular Ginch Gonch brand. Both Piss & Vinegar and LazzyBum are available at http://www.beyondbigbranding.com/.
The Scandinavian Frank Dandy brand, available at http://www.frankdandy.com/, eschews drab, monotone designs for bold, bright colors and military-influenced patterns.
Finally, the Colombian-based Mundo Unico boasts a combination of both traditional and exotic form-fitting designs, all sporting incredibly luxurious fabrics. Mundo Unico's collections are available at: http://www.mymundounico.com/web/.
Additionally, all of these designs can be purchased at etc...'s store at 653 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park, or online at http://www.etcforu.com/.
Modeling the diverse collections were three personable, charismatic, and sexy young men: Mike, Daniel, and Markis. Mike, with mesmerizing eyes, a killer smile, and a plethora of tattoos and body piercings, enticed guests with his raw sexuality and charm.
Daniel not only worked the crowd like the professional that he is, but delighted guests by getting on stage and belting out a song. His performance was impressive, leading to raucous applause from the patrons in the bar.
Finally, Markis, while initially a bit on the shy side, quickly warmed up, showing off his body, his skivvies, and his vast array of body ink.
So, back to the question that everyone asks: What do men prefer? Boxers or briefs? According to Reuter, the majority of his customers prefer tried-and-true briefs. And they typically favor jocks over thongs.
But, more importantly, what do you prefer? Which undies are in your drawers or closets?
