Las Vegas and Atlantic City as budget cities? "Lost Wages" and the city that invented Monopoly money are among the cheapest vacation destinations?
You can bet on it!
And ironically, it's the gambling that helps make these two cities so affordable for so many travelers. Since both cities rely on the revenues from gambling, many of the major casinos and hotel chains entice the tourists with extra low room rates and amenity-rich, package deals.
Of course, that's not to say that you can't spend a wad of cash in Vegas and AC - even while away from the gaming tables.
With world-class restaurants and award-winning chefs now populating both cities, food has gone way beyond the all-you-can-eat specials (although you can still belly up to the buffet).
Nearly every high-end fashion designer and jeweler has a boutique in these two gaming meccas - and if luxury isn't your thing, both cities also boast two of the largest outlet complexes in the country.
And both cities also now offer innovative spas that are comparable to any in the world - with many hotels offering spa specials that bring the price of pampered luxury within the reach of nearly anyone.
As the nation's premier convention city, Vegas has inexpensive flights from all over the country, while Atlantic City is reachable from the New York City and Philadelphia airports.
