Threadless Design Challenge To Send Designer to London
Robert Doyle READ TIME: 3 MIN.
This summer, Threadless is offering the vacation of a lifetime. In collaboration with STA Travel, Threadless is sending one of its 1.5 million designers on a trip to London.
The chosen designer and a guest will jet off to London for a royal British experience complete with flights, accommodations, and a city tour visiting all the famous London landmarks - Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and Tower of London. Sounds like a bloody good time, right?
To enter the challenge, Threadless and STA Travel invite anyone to create and submit a T-shirt design around the theme of travel at www.threadless.com/loves/travel3. Submissions are open now through June 16, and anyone can vote to help select the chosen design.
The chosen designer will receive the following vacation package from STA Travel - $5000 retail value:
- Round-trip economy tickets for two passengers to London
- Four nights hotel accommodations for chosen designer and guest
- Two passes for London's famous red double-decker bus city tour
Plus, Threadless will provide the following in prizes for the chosen designer:
- $500 Threadless Gift Certificate or $200 cash
- $2000 in cash from Threadless to buy some souvenirs
This is the third year Threadless has offered the Threadless Loves Travel challenge. In 2008, they sent a talented Threadless designer to Iceland and in 2010 to Australia.
Founded in 2000 by entrepreneur Jake Nickell, Threadless has evolved from an online t-shirt design company into an international community-driven design platform featuring merchandise designed by and for its fan base of nearly one million users. Considered the poster child of crowdsourcing, Threadless boasts a diverse community of designers, artists and general consumers from around the world who submit and vote on designs for ongoing competitions.
Selected designs are produced and available for sale at Threadless's retail locations and online store, and the designers receive $2,000 plus a $500 gift certificate. Threadless integrates its passionate, authentic and highly active community into every aspect of its business and continues to offer them new design opportunities through strategic partnerships with major brands including Disney, Dell, Griffin and Havaianas.
