Red Sox Release "It Gets Better" Video

The Boston Red Sox are the latest Major League Baseball team to produce a video for the "It Gets Better" project.
The team on Friday, July 1, released a 60-second video that features Red Sox manager Terry Francona, third baseman Kevin Youkilis and catcher and team captain Jason Varitek. Fenway Park DJ T.J. Connelly, Smith College student Kristen Rosa and Lexington High School student Alison Tippett, daughter of Tom Tippett, the team's director of baseball information services, are among those who also appear in the clip.
"Bullying is something that has touched many of our lives either personally or through someone we love," said Susan Goodenow, senior vice president of public affairs/marketing for the Red Sox, in a statement. "We are proud of dedicated Red Sox fans like 12-year-old Sam Maden who took the courageous step recently to publicly stand up against bullying of LGBT youth, and we are honored to join Sam and others throughout Red Sox Nation in support of the 'It Gets Better' Project."
The San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Cubs have also released their own "It Gets Better" videos.
