The print edition of the magazine will be released on September 8, 2011 to coincide with Fashion Week.
Deemed a "vegan superstar" by Oprah.com, Joshua Katcher created the PINNACLE series of beautifully designed and produced magazines as part of the PINNACLE: Reinvent the Icon campaign which reassesses and reinvents anti-fur imagery and tactics. The PINNACLE magazines (distributed for free online and in print during Fashion Week) present proof positive that animal friendly alternatives to fur and leather are not only fashion friendly, but offer a preferable alternative to the outdated looks that furriers and designers advocate with the use of animal pelts and skins.
The magazines also present irrefutable information about fur and the ills of its use in compelling and enlightening articles, as well as captivating illustrations by accomplished artists.
PINNACLE: Reinvent the Icon, Volume 3 features designers Dirty Librarian Chains, Matt & Nat, Olsen Haus, Marlena Pavich, Natalie Rae Richardson, VPL by Victoria Bartlett, Even Wren, April 77, and Imposter; an essay by Animals Asia founder and CEO Jill Robinson; and the art of Rob Bigwood, Alyssa Diaz, Jordan Elise, Christopher K. Lees, Tara Jacoby, Jess Evelyn Leroy, Kyle Opheim, and SIT.
Joshua Katcher (creator/author of The Discerning Brute blog; producer for MTV) founded The Discerning Brute in 2008 as a resource for intelligent men who want to make ethical, informed decisions concerning their lifestyles. He has been deemed, "The New Sexy Vegan" by UK's The Guardian.
