New York, NY - The Shade Store, a leading manufacturer of custom window treatments has teamed up with ArtWorks, The Naomi Cohain Foundation. ArtWorks provides children and young adults suffering from chronic and life-threatening illnesses, and their siblings, access to creative and performing arts programs that encourage the use of the creative process as a vehicle for healing, communication, self-expression and personal development.
ArtWorks seeks to empower, validate and honor these children by offering them the hands-on experience and materials with which to create, as well as the opportunity to publicly share their artistic accomplishments. This year The Shade Store is supporting ArtWork's annual auction event to bring awareness around advocacy of art as a means of healing and expression.
"We are thrilled to have The Shade Store as a sponsor of our 5th Annual Art Auction Benefit," says Daniela Mendelsohn. "This event is our largest fundraiser of the year with all proceeds directly benefitting our programs. As a grass roots non-profit organization, the support of our community is incredibly important to us. We work hard to develop meaningful, long-lasting relationships with our corporate donors."
"Their support provides us with the ability to further enhance and expand our programs, allowing many more children with serious illnesses, and their siblings, to experience the healing power and joy of the arts. Together, we are able to transform children's lives by connecting them with the power of the arts during a very challenging, stressful, and painful time in their lives."
Each year, supporters of ArtWorks gather for the organization's Annual Art Auction Benefit, this year being held at the Hiro Ballroom of the Maritime Hotel in New York City. The event theme is "Heroes" -focusing on the children, and the organization's supporters. Guests will enjoy great music, food and cocktails while bidding on silent and live auctions items. Also featured is original artwork created by ArtWorks children. Proceeds from the fundraiser support all ArtWorks' programs.
