Robert Doyle READ TIME: 2 MIN.
NEW ORLEANS, LA - This spring, a spirited restaurant, SoBou, will ignite south of Bourbon Street with sparks of innovative design and creative cocktail culture. W New Orleans French Quarter showcases what is new and next in the culinary world by joining forces with Commander's Group on an unexpectedly playful modern Creole Saloon.
Melding the worlds of dining and design, SoBou will offer sleek restaurant and bar areas that attract not only hotel guests, but also local tastemakers and trend setters. Completely reconstructed and reinvented the contemporary space announces a new palate of dark woods, bold grays and rich golden tones.
The former Bacco spot will be transformed with a modern design that boasts an open layout with unique dining experiences throughout. An artful and historic cocktail program, self serve pours of fine wines from enomatic machines and a beer garden with beer booths will all compliment a next generation Creole dining experience.
"We call it cooking with a Louisiana DNA and adult beverages," describes Tory McPhail, Commander's Palace Chef and partner in the SoBou initiative. Duck Debris and Butternut Beignets, Bruleed Creole Tomatoes, Shrimp and Tasso Pinchos and The SoBou Burger are just a glimpse of the Louisiana street food inspired shared plates on Chef Juan Carlos Gonzalez's locally sourced menu. Gonzalez brings instant energy to SoBou, operating as a long time Commander's group leader including launching Bistro Alex in Houston.
Commander's Palace is located in the heart of the Garden District and is open for dinner daily, lunch Monday through Friday, and their world-famous jazz brunches on Saturday and Sunday. Complimentary valet parking is available. Reservations can be made by calling 504.899.8221
