Walk'N Roll in West Hollywood for Gay For Good
Mark Thompson READ TIME: 1 MIN.
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - The Andaz West Hollywood, the Sunset Strip's historic hotel, has been the setting for a number of memorable rock 'n' roll moments, from Jim Morrison taking up residence in 1966 to Robert Plant shouting "I'm a golden god!" from the balcony.
Today, the property is embracing its rock 'n' roll heritage with a number of interesting programs, from the Art Seen @ Andaz curated by Merry Norris and featuring iconic music images from Peter Simon and Mr. Musichead - to the Walk 'n' Roll Package, with the proceeds donated to the GAY FOR GOOD organization.
The Walk 'n' Roll package is inspired by West Hollywood being named California's 'Most Walkable City' by Walk Score, the nationally recognized quantitative ranking of walkability for U.S. Cities and neighborhoods. Starting at $189, the package includes a limited edition tote bag adorned with signature artwork from the Andaz art collection, a stainless steel eco-friendly water bottle with original artwork, local walking routes, gourmet sack lunch and pedometer.
Walk 'n' Rollers can stroll amongst many of the Sunset Strip's legendary music and nightlife venues, an eclectic section of the historic Route 66; and The Avenues, with nearly 300 interior design showrooms, the Pacific Design Center and shopping meccas Melrose Avenue, Robertson Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard.
Guests are encouraged to track their routes with the pedometer and, in return, the Andaz will donate one dollar per mile walked to GAY FOR GOOD (gayforgood.org), a LGBT non-profit volunteer community service organization.
