Prism Toronto Gears Up for Toronto Pride

Toronto, ON - Prism Toronto announced its ninth festival season, which will run from June 28 to July 1, 2012.

"Prism 2012 promises to be the festival's biggest and most exciting year to date. With over 30 Djs and performers, a posh hotel theme and larger, more lavish productions, we're planning for the most extensive roster of international and local talent ever in Toronto," said Gairy Brown, owner of Prism Toronto.

This year's Prism festival kicks off the Toronto Pride 2012 weekend with Prism College on Thursday, June 28 at Fly Nightclub. This varsity-themed event will teach you a lesson or two as you move to the sounds of Dj Micke Hi.

On Friday, June 29, Prism presents Bootcamp, a military-themed event in the Main Room of The Guvernment featuring the turntable talents of Djs Tony Moran and Hector Foneseca. Brace yourself for sexy soldiers at full attention and get ready to battle the beats on the dance floor.

The Prism experience continues with two events on Saturday, June 30. During the day, Prism presents Aqua, a water-themed music extravaganza featuring Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart-topper Jessica Sutta of The Pussycat Dolls, Djs Manny Lehman, Honey Dijon and Dj Aron.
This year, Aqua returns to Toronto's Sugar Beach for a sun soaked party this is sure to keep you cool and in the groove in the sizzling summer heat. As the sun sets, awaken your nocturnal instincts and prepare for Prism Toronto's Main Event at Koolhaus featuring Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart-topper Erika Jayne, Djs Chus & Cheballos, Micky Friedmann and Dj Paulo.

Just when you think the festivities are coming to an end, Prism turns up the heat and gives you one last chance to dance with the show stopping closing party of the Prism festival, Revival.
Internationally renowned Dj Peter Rauhofer along with Djs Dave and Gerardo and Javier Medina are set to take the stage as impressive laser shows dominate The Guvernment dance floor. Take the party upstairs and dance the night away under the stars overlooking the breathtaking Toronto skyline in the Skybar patio lounge.

Since beginning in 2003, the Prism Festival has become the leading gay event series in Canada and North America's largest summer circuit party event. Prism has proudly hosted some of the world's most desirable talent including, international Djs Peter Rauhofer, Tony Moran, Manny Lehman, Abel, Ana Paula, Honey Dijon, Hector Foneseca and Isaac Escalante. Other major performers that have graced its stages include Chaka Khan, Deborah Cox, Kelly Rowland and Mya.

A long-term New Yorker and a member of New York Travel Writers Association, Mark Thompson has also lived in San Francisco, Boston, Provincetown, D.C., Miami Beach and the south of France. The author of the novels WOLFCHILD and MY HAWAIIAN PENTHOUSE, he has a PhD in American Studies and is the recipient of fellowships at MacDowell, Yaddo, and Blue Mountain Center. His work has appeared in numerous publications.
