Fla. High School Teacher Quits After 'Gay 3Some Sex' Video Pop Up in Class

A high school teacher from Pierson, Fla., resigned from his teaching position after students say a YouTube video titled "Gay Threesome Sex" appeared on a projector in his class, Tampa Bay's WTSP News reported.

Pierson is in Volusia County, on the state's Atlantic Ocean side. It is about 33 miles west of Daytona.

Jose Rosario-Gonzalez, 53, a ninth-grade social students teacher at T. Dewitt Taylor Middle-High School, faced termination but decided to resign on Tuesday after allegations were made that an inappropriate video was shown during his class.

School officials told Rosario-Gonzalez about the allegations against him and said if the claims are true, officials would fire him. Rather than facing the possibility of being terminated, the teacher chose to quit.

Officials say that a parent reported the 53 year-old hooked his computer to a projector in his classroom. He logged on to YouTube and the title of the gay sex video popped up.

According to school documents, Rosario-Gonzalez, who has taught for 12 years, denies the incident and said he "did this on his own time, in the privacy of his home and it was never his intention to show students." In addition, a number of students made written statements saying that the class saw the title of the video.

"Mr. Rosario was on YouTube, he scrolled through his videos and there was history videos except for one," one student wrote. "This was one was titled 'Gay Threesome Sex.' The whole class was saying 'eww' and 'What is that doing on there?' and he just kept scrolling and didn't say anything."

Officials also said that the teacher's computer was full of gay porn.

The news station reports that Rosario-Gonzalez received "satisfactory" on his evaluations in 2009 and 2010 but his 2011 evaluation was redacted for "confidential reasons."

This isn't the first time the teacher has gotten in trouble for questionable reasons. WTSP researched Rosario-Gonzalez's teaching history and discovered that there had been allegations that he was "inappropriate with the students." The first claim was made in 2006 when he made in an "improper comment to a student," the article says. In 2008 he was warned because he did not have a proper guidelines for a substitute teacher to instruct his class.

The article notes that in October 2011 the teacher received another warning for giving students a link to his personal and sexual blog, telling them to go there for notes and tests.
