Mark Thompson READ TIME: 3 MIN.
DALLAS, TX - The cyclists of the Lone Star Ride Fighting AIDS (LSRFA) are trading their biking spandex for high fashion from top designers and popular Dallas merchants for Passion 4 Fashion.
On August 10, 2012, LSRFA will turn the Station 4 nightclub into a fashion center with an exclusive runway show featuring the newest styles from merchants at Uptown's popular West Village shopping center including, Brooks Brothers, Demerara, GAP, L. Bartlett and Kendra Scott, as well as Kenneth Cole from the Galleria. Additionally, J Pacetti Precious Jewels will showcase some amazing accessories. Stoli Vodka will host a special VIP Reception with light appetizers prior the fashion show, where VIP attendees will have preferred seating.

"The participating merchants are going all out to support LSRFA and our beneficiaries by presenting an unforgettable runway show. Attendees will see some of the latest summer trends including accessories for both men and women," said Danny Simpson, LSRFA event co-chair. "In addition to food, drink and fashion, this event will also be a great opportunity for our guests to learn about LSRFA, what we do and the three agencies we support."

Since 2001, LSRFA has distributed more than $2 million to its beneficiaries: AIDS Outreach Center of Tarrant County, AIDS Services of Dallas and Resource Center Dallas. These agencies use the money raised by LSRFA to provide a variety of services and support for North Texans impacted by HIV/AIDS, including meals, housing, education and outreach, dental care, HIV testing, case management, transportation, counseling and more.

"The twelfth annual LSRFA rides out on September 29 and 30 from the Irving/Las Colinas campus of this year's Host Sponsor, Microsoft," said David Hodge, LSRFA event co-chair. "Until then, our cyclists are busy training and raising money. We look forward to events like Passion 4 Fashion each year as a way to have fun and to share our passion for this cause that with others."

LSRFA is a fully supported ride for any level of cyclist and features entertaining pit stops providing snacks, beverages, bike-tech assistance and even massage every 10 to 15 miles. Route crews sustain riders on the route ensuring their successful participation in the ride.
The new 2012 route provides an exciting bicycling tour through Dallas and Tarrant Counties and presents riders and crew the opportunity to make new friends while helping North Texans impacted by HIV/AIDS.

"The minimum fundraising goal for riders is $500, although the average Lone Star Rider raises much more," said Simpson. "We provide our riders with all the tools and support they need to be successful fundraisers. The satisfaction of helping our neighbors struggling with HIV/AIDS makes all the effort worthwhile."

Current sponsors of the 2012 LSRFA include Dallas Voice, Microsoft, NYLO Hotel Dallas/Las Colinas, GLM Waste Management, Dei Rossi Marketing, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Merck, The UPS Store at Lemmon Ave, Chef's Produce, Ambient Stage Lighting, Inc., Designkor, Sherpa Management, and the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce

Now in its twelfth year, LSRFA is an independent, non-profit organization that benefits AIDS Services of Dallas (ASD), AIDS Outreach Center of Tarrant County (AOC) and Resource Center Dallas (RCD). Monies raised by the ride are used by the beneficiaries to offer services including housing, hot meals, food pantries, HIV testing, counseling and other basic needs for more than 20,000 clients with HIV/AIDS in North Texas.
A grass roots, volunteer supported organization, LSRFA has donated more than $2 million to our three beneficiary agencies since 2001.
Advance tickets for Passion 4 Fashion range from $30 for general admission to the runway show from 8-9 p.m to $75 for the VIP reception from 7-8 p.m. in the Granite Room and are available from LSRFA. General admission tickets will be available at the door one hour before the show at S4, 3911 Cedar Springs in Dallas, for $40.
