South Norwalk, Conn - Virgin Atlantic Airways announced details of its latest investment in the New York metropolitan area: a brand-new Clubhouse at Newark Liberty Airport.
Following the March 2012 opening of their JFK Clubhouse, an additional JFK-to-London Heathrow service launching in October, new onboard product and new aircraft, the latest Clubhouse will open this October.
The new Clubhouse will be located after the security checks in Terminal B and will be close to the gates to allow passengers the maximum time for relaxation before boarding.
Created by the same team as the JFK Clubhouse, including New York-based architectural practice Slade Architecture, the Newark space is being designed with a mixture of NYC's downtown flair and Virgin's warmth and individuality.
The lounge will live and breathe lower Manhattan - think Soho boutiques, TriBeCa lofts and Meatpacking District chic. Upper Class passengers will be invited to indulge in a personalized food service, featuring locally-sourced produce, to deliver pure culinary joy.
Chris Rossi, Senior Vice President, North America commented: "The New York metropolitan area has always been an important market to Virgin Atlantic Airways - it's where it all started with our first flight from London to Newark in 1984. We continue to pioneer innovative products and services, such as the new Newark Clubhouse, that enable us to continue to impress our passengers and give them an experience to remember each time they fly with us."
Virgin Atlantic Airwaysoffers two daily flights from Newark to London Heathrow, as well as three daily flights from JFK to London Heathrow, with a fourth daily service beginning in October 2012.
