Trouble in Paradise

Anderson Cooper got a shock when he arrived in Croatia on vacation earlier this week. The London tabloid the Daily Mail published a photo of his boyfriend Ben Maisani kissing another man in New York's Central Park. (Click here to see the photos.)

The Huffington Post picks up the story. "Maisani, 39, who has been in a serious relationship with Cooper for more than three years, can be seen in�new images holding hands and passionately kissing a man who is not the "silver fox" anchor, but rather a dark-haired mystery man."

The website Life & Style Weekly ran an exclusive on how Cooper found out about the pictures. "Anderson was with Ben in Croatia when he was told about the photos," a source tells Life & Style. "They were on a yacht. They flew to Croatia on Aug. 11, one day after the photos were taken. Anderson's upset -- who wouldn't be?

"Anderson, 45, and Ben, 39, who have been together for more than three years, do not have an open relationship, a source close to Ben insists, so the betrayal has hit Anderson hard."

The CNN anchor's sexuality was long a question of speculation over the years, even before Maisaini came on the scene. Cooper put an end to the rumors by coming out earlier this summer. "'The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be more happy," he said.

The couple live in a converted fire station/townhouse in New York's Greenwich Village. Maisaini has owned Eastern Bloc in Manhattan's East Village for around three years.

According to the Huffington Post, Cooper's coming out sparked "wedding rumors about him and his live-in boyfriend. But now friends of the couple wonder if they can survive this betrayal."

Cooper is in Croatia with Maisani, out TV host Andy Cohen, Kelly Ripa and Ripa's husband Mark Consuelos.

Rumors that Cooper and Maisani were to be married after Labor Day have circulated lately - a marriage that is being encouraged by Cooper's famous mother. "They were encouraged to marry last year by Anderson's mother, designer Gloria Vanderbilt. She reportedly helped the pair patch up their relationship after they struggled with conflicting work schedules," wrote the Daily Mail.

And late in the day, the plot thickened further: Gawker reported: "Longtime friends Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper let the Instagram world know that they're vacationing together in beautiful, romantic, sunset-filled Croatia."

The report continued that rumors of Cohen and Cooper having a relationship have existed for years. With the Maisani photos embarrassing Cooper, "the possibilities of a rebound boning between the two close friends are exceptionally high. Keep your fingers and penises crossed."

What happened to Maisani? Is he rowing in a dinghy behind the yacht? Not exactly: the National Enquirer reported: "Anderson Cooper has kicked his two-timing boy�friend out of their Manhattan apartment and called off their engagement after seeing photos of the chiseled cheater kissing an�other man in a New York City park.

"Anderson was furi�ous when he saw those photos," a source told The ENQUIRER. "They caught him completely off-guard.

"Ben runs with a really fast crowd in New York, and Anderson always knew that his boyfriend was exposed to hot young gay men at his bar. But he also believed he could trust Ben to remain faithful to him."

"Anderson's shat�tered," the source added. "He felt secure enough with Ben that he took the bold step of coming out as gay this year. He was confident that their relationship was strong. Now he knows that they are finished for�ever. Anderson's a strong man, and he'll put on a brave face, but the truth is he's absolutely devastated."

Tim Tebow Superstar

Tim Tebow may be the back-up quarterback on the New York Jets this coming season, but he's getting the superstar (as in "Jesus Christ") treatment in the latest issue of GQ.

The September issue features two cover boys: one has Tebow, the other has rookie Cam Newton from the Carolina Panthers with the title "Cam Newton: The QB of the Future Has Arrived."

The Tebow cover has the title "Brothers, Have You Accepted Tim Tebow As Your Sunday Savior?" It is written by Devin Gordon, who, according to USA Today is "an avowed New York Jets fan who promises that if Tebow leads 'the Jets to their first Super Bowl title in my lifetime, I promise you here and now, Tim Tebow, I will fly to whichever mega-church hosts your next Sunday sermon, and I will get down on one knee, pump my fist, and accept you into my heart as my lord and personal savior, so help me God, amen.'"

Ironically, the cover of last year's issue was Mark Sanchez, the Jets' first-string quarterback.

But it's not the cover that is causing controversy; it is a picture on the inside that run with the article featuring Tebow in a Christ-on-the-cross pose.

"In the black-and-white 'Sexy Jesus' photo," the Huff Post reported, "Tebow poses shirtless with his arms outstretched and legs crossed. His side-turned face is tilted slightly downward, painted with a forlorn expression."

Sports pundits were quick to find fault with Tebow's pic. Craig Carton, host of the Boomer & Carton radio show on Sports Radio 66 WFAN, said: "When you see a guy, who clearly thinks he is Jesus -- he is posing as Jesus, legs crossed, arms out, like he's on the freaking cross, and he's got tight junk pants on showing off his big junk with no shirt on -- and he's posing as Sexy Jesus, he is a fraud."

And over at Yahoo Sports, contributor Lynda Altman wrote: "All that is missing is an actual cross and a crown of thorns. Tim Tebow may have gone too far on this one. Is it right for a nice Christian boy to play to the media like this? Tebow is far from being the football savior the Jets need. As for saving anything else or anyone--I'll leave that to a higher power than Tebow mania."

It was also revealed that the photo is not new: it was photographed when Tebow was attending the University of Florida. All signage was digitally removed from the photo, and it was altered from color to black-and-white.

Jones to Travolta :: Come Out (Not)

Rashida Jones is a big booster of LGBT rights - so much so that it got her into hot water with John Travolta.

While doing a promotional interview for "Celeste and Jesse Forever," the film she co-wrote with Will McCormack, Jones expressed her admiration for Frank Ocean, the R&B star that recently came out. McCormack (who also took part in the interview) said that a sports figure now needed to come out, to which Jones added: ""A movie star. Like John Travolta? Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let's do this."

If only... instead yesterday Jones apologized to Travolta. "Made a thoughtless comment about John Travolta," Jones tweeted. "I sincerely apologize. Nobody's personal life is my business."

Beckham in briefs again

David Beckham is back in briefs. In the highly competitive world of men's underwear marketing, Beckham remains the most visible spokesperson; so much so that when H&M rolled out round two of the advertising campaign featuring Beckham, the new photos went viral.

The Huff Post reported: "Released on Beckham's Facebook page, the second round of black-and-white ads show the soccer star flaunting his beer belly in a lumpy pair of plaid boxers. Just kidding. He's wearing tighty-whities, boxer briefs and even a long-sleeve shirt (thankfully, there's just the one) and showing off his ripped abs, muscular arms and acres of tattoos."

There is also another component to the advertising campaign involving the chance for individuals to win $1,000 H&M shopping spree, a signed pair of David Beckham for H&M underwear or a mini statue of the soccer superstar, which was gifted to the fashion editors earlier this week. To win the contest, participants are asked to take Instagram pics of themselves with full-size Beckham (made of metal) put up in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Gay? No Queer

Ezra Miller made quite an impression last year playing troubled adolescents in "Another Happy Day" and (more significantly) "We Need to Talk About Kevin." We're looking forward to his next role - that of the out teen Patrick in the film version of Stephen Chbosky's novel "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"- due out next month. And in an interview today, Miller sort-of came out, describing himself as "queer." ""I have a lot of really wonderful friends who are of very different sexes and genders. I am very much in love with no one in particular."

In an earlier interview, Miller said: "I've had many, you know, 'happy ending sleepovers' in my early youth... my period of exploration-I think that's essential. Anyone who hasn't had a gay moment is probably trying to avoid some confrontation with a reality in their life."

While filming "Wallflower," Miller got into a bit of trouble with the law. He was a passenger in a car that was pulled over by Pittsburgh police when it was discovered he was carrying (according to Wikipedia) "20 grams of marijuana in his possession. He was initially charged with drug possession but the charge was later dropped by a judge. Instead of these charges, Miller faced a penalty of $600 for two citations of disorderly conduct. Miller later commented: "I don't feel like there's any need to hide the fact that I smoke pot. It's a harmless herbal substance that increases sensory appreciation."
