'Modern Family' Creator Wants Ann Romney to Officiate Show's Gay Wedding

After Mitt Romney's wife named ABC's "Modern Family" as her favorite TV show, the series' co-creator offered her a spot on the program while slamming Romney's anti-gay marriage views, Entertainment Weekly reported.

When Steven Levitan found out that Ann Romney, 63, had kind words to say about "Modern Family," the co-creator tweeted, "Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show. We'll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam's wedding. As soon as it's legal."

Mitch and Cam are the show's popular gay couple.

Romney has been vocal about his views on marriage equality and has stated several times he does not support same-sex marriage. EDGEreported that he also supports the Federal Marriage Amendment, which would outlaw gay marriage throughout the country.

"I have the same view on marriage that I had when I was governor. I believe marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman," he said while campaigning in Oklahoma City.

Levitan authored his sharp tweet just before Ann delivered her speech at the Republican National Convention.

"You may not agree with Mitt's positions on issues or his politics," she said. "But let me say this to every American who is thinking about who should be our next president: No one will work harder, no one will care more, and no one will move heaven and earth like Mitt Romney to make this country a better place to live."

Levitan is currently dealing with drama on the set of "Modern Family," however. EW pointed out that some of the show's main cast members have demanded an increase in pay, which caused the show's first table read for the fourth season to be cancelled.
