Paris Hilton: Gay Men Are Disgusting and Probably Have AIDS
Jason St. Amand READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Just when most of us forgot that Paris Hilton existed, the hotel heiress pops up making media headlines once again. But she isn't promoting a new reality show, nor is she going to jail for drunk driving (and she certainly doesn't have a new sex tape out). This time Hilton is making news for anti-gay comments she uttered in the back of a New York taxicab earlier this month.
As RadarOnline reports, Hilton, 31, claims that the cab driver secretly recorded a conversation Hilton was having with a gay friend. The two talk about Grindr, a smartphone app that allows gay men find each other to hookup.
"Ewwww ... gay guys are the horniest people in the world," Hilton, who was visiting New York City during Fashion Week, is recorded as saying. "Most of them probably have AIDS ... I would be so scared if I was a gay guy ... you'll like die of AIDS."
Hilton's representative released a statement and defended her remarks, "Paris Hilton's comments were to express that it is dangerous for anyone to have unprotected sex that could lead to a life threatening disease."
"The conversation became heated, after a close gay friend told her in a cab ride, a story about a gay man who has AIDS and is knowingly having unprotected sex. He also discussed a website that encourages random sex by gay men with strangers."
The rep goes on to say that the cabbie who recorded the private conversation "only provide a portion" of it. "It was not her intent to make any derogatory comments about all gays."
"Paris Hilton is a huge supporter of the gay community and would never purposefully make any negative statements about anyone's sexual orientation," the rep added.
