San Francisco Gay Rights Advocate Pleads Not Guilty of Porn

SAN FRANCISCO - A longtime San Francisco gay rights advocate is pleading not guilty to six counts of possessing and distributing child pornography.
Larry Brinkin, who worked for the San Francisco Human Rights Commission before his retirement two years ago, was arrested in June after police said they linked him to an email account that had sent and received images of toddlers engaging in sex acts with men.
Brinkin appeared in San Francisco Superior Court to be arraigned Wednesday, and is now free after posting $240,000 bail.
District Attorney George Gascon did not immediately say how much material Brinkin allegedly had or distributed.
As a compliance officer and manager in the Human Rights Commission's Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender & HIV Division, Brinkin was responsible for enforcing anti-discrimination laws and oversaw discrimination complaints.
