NEW YORK, NY - October 19 is Spirit Day, an initiative by GLAAD where millions of Americans will wear purple as a sign of support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth and to speak out against bullying.

To show its support, Kimpton's The Muse and 70 park avenue hotels will be celebrating Spirit Day with the 'Spirit Night' specialty cocktail, available at NIOS restaurant at The Muse and 70 park avenue's silverleaf tavern.

Additionally, staff members will be showing their pride by sporting purple attire on Friday and tweeting to the hashtag #spiritday.

For over 20 years, LGBT guests as well as employees have been an important part of the Kimpton story. Kimpton continues its commitment to creating a culture that reflects the diversity of its hotel and restaurant guests. With that in mind, Kimpton encourages each of its employees to understand, accept and celebrate differences among people.

From its Summer of Pride initiative to its internal diversity training, Kimpton believes its LGBT guests and employees are an invaluable part of the brand's framework.
