StartOut Boston Starts Out with Startup Financing Panel
EDGE READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Pay attention, Boston LGBT entrepreneurs; there's a new startup in town. And it's dedicated to helping you launch your dream business.
StartOut, an organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurialism among the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, is taking root in the Hub. Part of a national group with chapters currently in San Francisco, New York and Austin, StartOut Boston will host its first informational event next Wednesday, January 30th.
The evening will be hosted by the law firm of Foley & Lardner, and will feature short talks by Patrick Chung and Hugo Van Vuuren, both founding partners of Harvard's Experiment Fund (http://www.xfund.com), along with mix and mingle hours before and after the presentations.
Chung is a partner with NEA, a venture corporation in the energy, healthcare and IT space with offices in the US, Beijing and India. Van Vuuren is a TED fellow who cut his teeth growing The Lab @ Harvard as Founding Director. They will address the StartOut audience on the subject of startup financing.
Tickets to the event are limited (and going fast); and ideally, the event should be attended by those in the LGBT community thinking about, or in the process of, starting a new business.
