Anti-Gay Pastor Blames Colorado Floods on 'Homosexual Acts'

Once again, ultra right-wing conservatives are blaming the LGBT community for a natural disaster. This time Right Wing Watch reports Pastor Kevin Swanson said "homosexual acts" led to the devastating floods in Colorado.
Swanson mentioned openly gay State House Majority Leader Mark Ferrandino, who was featured on the cover of the Denver Post kissing his partner
"Is this a coincidence that this was the worst year in the history of Colorado, at least if you use God's law as a means of determining human ethics?" Swanson asked on his "Generations Radio" program, co-hosted by Pastor Dave Buehner.
Swanson then lambasted politicians who "committed homosexual acts on the front page of the Denver Post," which, along with marijuana and abortion rights, prompted the "worst year ever in terms of flood and fire damage in Colorado's history."
In October 2012, John McTernan, another conservative pastor, made headlines for blaming the LGBT community for Hurricane Sandy. He wrote on his blog that the storm was "the most powerful hurricane on record" that "could do catastrophic damage to the entire Northeast." McTernan also said "Obama is 100 percent behind the Muslim Brotherhood which has vowed to destroy Israel and take Jerusalem. Both candidates are pro-homosexual and are behind the homosexual agenda. America is under political judgment and the church does not know it!"
"The church in America is now EXACTLY like ancient Israel before the Babylonians destroyed them. Both ancient Israel and the modern American church completely lost the fear of God," he added.
In August 2012, McTernan also said New Orleans's Southern Decadence gay pride party caused Hurricane Isaac and also pointed out that Isaac occurred seven years after Hurricane Katrina.
"The church, city and nation have not repented and the homosexual agenda is far worse than it was in 2005," he wrote. "New Orleans is still hosting Southern Decadence with open homosexuality manifesting in the streets of the city. It could be that God is putting an end to this city and its wickedness. The timing of Hurricane Isaac with Southern Decadence is a sign that God's patience with America's sin is coming to an end."
But Isaac missed New Orleans and only impacted surrounding parishes with down power lines, scattered tree limbs and minor flooding.
