Ultra Conservative Pundit Really Upset Over Harvey Milk Stamp

A spokesman for the Christian and vehemently anti-gay Liberty Counsel is not happy that the U.S. Postal Service will honor Harvey Milk with a stamp, calling California's first openly gay elected politician an "evil man" who raped teen boys.

In a recent interview with One News Now, the organization's Matt Barber said the Postal Service is "whitewashing" the truth launching a "historical revisionism" by celebrating Milk and his legacy and putting him on a stamp, which is set to come out next year.

"Harvey Milk was known as a pederast," Barber said. "That's a man who in his mid-30s had a sexual appetite for teenage boys as young as 15-years-old. Harvey Milk was demonstrably, categorically an evil man based on his rape of teenage boys, and the fact that our U.S. government would be commemorating and recognizing him as some kind of hero really just boggles the mind."

Last week Milk's nephew, Stewart Milk, announced on Facebook that his uncle will be featured on a U.S. postage stamp.

"On behalf of the Milk family and the Harvey Milk Foundation, we are thrilled that our campaign for the stamp has succeeded and we thank all our partners including the USPS in this effort," he said. "Harvey's story, example and courage continues to inspire across the globe and the issuance of the first U.S. postage stamp for an openly LGBT in my uncle's name will not only educate but will provide hope, hope that is still critically needed today."
