Lady Gaga to Close NYC's Legendary Roseland Ballroom

New York City's legendary Roseland Ballroom will close next year, but Lady Gaga will perform at the venue's last show, DNA Info reports.

Gaga is scheduled to put on four concerts at Roseland Ballroom in late March and early April and says the last shows at the music venue will be "a real New York theatrical affair," according to Live Nation Global Touring. The show is billed as "a very intimate residency."

The shows are in support of Lady Gaga's latest album "ARTPOP." Tickets go on sale on Ticketmaster.com Monday, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m. Prices will be $50 for the floor, and $200 for the mezzanine.

"Starting with the March 28th performance on Gaga's 28th birthday, the concerts will be a celebration of New York's most venerable venue before it closes its doors forever," Live Nation said, according to DNA Info.

After a report by Billboard in October, rumors circulated that Roseland Ballroom would be shutting down but speculation was confirmed on Tuesday morning.

"The venerable venue, owned by developer Larry Ginsberg and booked by Live Nation, opened at its 52nd street location, a converted skating rink, in 1958 and is a sentimental favorite for many bands," Billboard wrote. "The history of the venue in New York dates back to 1919, when it was located at 51st and Broadway, and prior to that in Philadelphia."

The venue, which can hold 3,500 people, has been hosting shows since 1958. The Roseland Ballroom has hosted concerts of a wide variety of genres as well as Hillary Clinton's birthday party. It also hosts annual gay circuit parties, like the Black Party, and movie premiers.
