You're Out!:: Noted Gay Journalist Removes Closet Door Of Anti-Gay GOP Representative

What's a career homophobe and long suspected closet case to do when caught in the shower with another man? If you're a certain Republican congressman from Illinois, pray to God that nobody notable finds out. As the old saying goes "God answers all prayers and sometimes the answer is 'no'." Such is the case with GOP rising star Aaron Schock.
In a lengthy post on his Facebook page in front of an audience of 5,592 followers, noted gay CBS journalist Itay Hod outed Illinois congressman Aaron Schock, calling out the two-term politician on the hypocrisy of an alleged recent sexual exploit in light of his long anti-gay voting record.
The post, which is written in the style of a gossip column blind item starts
"people always say, no one has the right to out anyone. that coming out is a private matter. i disagree. as you can imagine, not a very popular opinion. but bear with me.
here's a hypothetical: what if you know a certain GOP congressman, let's just say from Illinois, is gay... and you know this because one of your friends, a journalist for a reputable network, told you in no uncertain terms that he caught that GOP congressman and his male roommate in the shower... together. now they could have been good friends just trying to conserve water. but there's more. what if this congressman has also been caught by tmz cameras trolling gay bars. now what if you know that this very same guy, the darling of the gop, has also voted against repeal of don't ask don't tell, opposed the repeal of doma, is against gay marriage; and for the federal marriage amendment, which would add language to the us constitution banning gay marriage and would likely strike down every gay rights law and ordinance in the country?
Are we still not allowed to out him?"
Hod then turned his ire on his colleagues in the media.
"let me ask another question... doesn't the media have an OBLIGATION to expose his hypocrisy? if he had done something so hypocritical and he wasn't gay, wouldn't we demand journalists do their job? but they can't... because we won't let them. you're not allowed to out ANYONE, we tell them.
we've created a situation where even though news organizations know this guy is gay, they can't report it because he hasn't said so on twitter."
As if saving the best for last, Hod finished the entry by reposting an AmericaBlog entry titled "The 7 gayest Aaron Schock Instagram Posts of 2013."
Schock, who was voted into the House of Representatives in 2009, has 0% rating from HRC. He voted against adding sexual orientation to an existing hate crimes law. He was a vocal opponent of the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell and the Defense of Marriage Act and has expressed support of a federal constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
According to his Wikipedia page, Aaron Jon Schock (born May 28, 1981) is the United States Representative for Illinois's 18th congressional district, serving since 2009. He is a member of the Republican Party. The district is based in Peoria and includes part of Springfield. At the age of 32, Schock is both the second youngest currently serving U.S. representative, after Patrick Murphy of Florida, and the first member of the U.S. Congress born in the 1980s.[5] Previously, Schock served two terms in the Illinois House of Representatives, and was its youngest member.
In 2011, Schock became the first member of congress to appear shirtless on the cover of Men's Health magazine.
