AFA's Fischer Slams Grammy's 'Sodomy-Based Wedding Ceremonies'

When American Family Association's Bryan Fischer first got wind that the 56th Grammy Awards would feature same-sex couples marrying, he took to Twitter before the program aired to express his concern. Now that the music award show has come and gone, the anti-gay pundit, who is not afraid to express his uninformed and largely bigoted views, has aired out his thoughts about the Grammys on his "Focal Point" radio show Monday, Right Wing Watch reports.

"The opening number with Beyonce was a complete raunch-fest; the way she dressed, her moves, what she did, what was done to her -- was absolutely not suitable for family viewing," Fischer said. He added that Beyonce's performance of her amazing "Drunk In Love," featuring hubby Jay Z, "set the tone" of the Grammy Awards and that it was "inexcusably tawdry behavior."

He then moved on to complain about Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' performance of "Same Love," which featured Madonna and Queen Latifah, who married over 30 couples -- several of them were same-sex couples.

"The heart of the Grammy-thing last night was this big number -- Queen Latifah, deputized by L.A. County apparently to perform wedding ceremonies -- she performed wedding ceremonies in the middle of the Grammy ceremony for 34, 36 couples, a number of whom were homosexual couples" he said.

Fischer went on to call the performance an "abomination," asserting his opinion that same-sex marriage harms children as though it was a documented fact.

"If you care about children, this thing should appall you," he added. "Gay marriage is bad for children. In fact same-sex parenting -- I'm going to be very direct here -- same-sex parenting is a form of child abuse."

Hours before the Grammy's aired, Fischer tweeted about the same-sex marriages that were held during the Grammy Awards.

"Heads up: Grammy telecast to feature sodomy-based wedding ceremonies," Fischer said.

He wasn't alone in his views -- a number of other conservatives and Grammy viewers took to social media to lambast the Grammy Awards, specifically Macklemore's "Same Love" performance.

Others, like Fischer, had a problem with Beyonce's provocative performance as well.

"Beyonce's act was literally disgusting. The Grammy's are supposed to be classy," a tweet reads.
