HIV+ Porn Star Faces 9 Felony Charges for Alleged Sexual Assault of Young Teen

Gay porn star Mike Dozer, the HIV-positive actor who came under fire last year for opposing condoms in porn, was arrested in December in Delaware on charges of statutory rape, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy he met on a gay hookup app, Str8UpGayPorn.com reports.
The gay porn news site reported on Feb. 8 that Dozer, whose real name is Christopher Steele, was arrested in Delaware on multiple felony charges for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old boy in Montgomery County, Pa. Because Dozer, 33, is HIV-positive the Montgomery County's district attorney's office added a reckless endangerment charge.
Police say the porn star, who has been HIV-positive for six years, met the young teen by using the gay hookup app Jack'D. He drove to the teen's home in Pennsylvania last spring and allegedly forced him to take poppers and then had sex with him. Police also allege that Dozer knew the teen was underage but didn't care.
Authorities add that the porn star and the 14-year-old teen exchanged naked photos of each other prior to their meeting. Str8UpGayPorn notes it's unclear if the teen reported the alleged assault on his own or if police had been monitoring Dozer beforehand.
Kevin Wray, Dozer's attorney, spoke with Philadelphia Gay News and said that the porn star didn't know the teen was underage.
"At some point, he came to the realization that this person wasn't 18 and took off," Wray told the newspaper. "This kid kept pursuing him and apparently had done so with others."
Wray also said that Jack'D requires users to verify that they are over age 18 and when Dozer found out that the teen was underage, he attempted to end relations with him. The attorney added the reckless-endangerment charge is inappropriate if it is related to Dozer's HIV status.
"It bothered me a great deal and seemed to be offensive," Wray told Philadelphia Gay News. "He takes medication and is constantly moderating it. Charging someone with [reckless endangerment] because they are HIV-positive is homophobic and ignorant. We don't go to people who have herpes, colds, strep throat and charge them. If that is the standard, they need to be indicting everybody. It's amazing that, 35 years later, the public is still oblivious to the simple fact that HIV does not equal AIDS."
Dozer's bail was set at $1 million and when Str8UpGayPorn.com reported the incident, Dozer was in custody in a Montgomery County prison. The porn actor's preliminary hearing was reportedly scheduled for Jan. 6. He will appear in court again on Feb. 27.
Str8UpGayPorn reports in a different article that Dozer faces nine felony charges in total, and that most of the charges are second-degree felonies and four misdemeanor counts. The first-degree felony charge of sex with someone under 16, carries a maximum sentence of 20-years in prison. If found guilty on sexual assault and aggravated assault, both second-degree felony charges, Dozer could face up to 10-years in prison. The third-degree felonies carry 7-year sentences. If the porn star is found guilty on all charges, he could be sentenced to prison for 75-years.
Dozer made headlines in the gay porn world last year for supporting bareback sex and opposing condoms, after wearing a t-shirt that reads, "condoms are for pussies." Str8UpGayPorn.com notes that he performed in a bareback scene for CocksureMen.com but also performed in scenes with Raging Stallion and Falcon Studios with condoms. ManHuntDaily.com wrote a scathing article about Dover's barebacking scene, which you can read here.
Dozer has a Facebook and a Twitter account but both social media sites have been inactive since early/mid-December.
Gay porn index website, Al's Gay Porn Stars, calls Dozer a "muscle bear" and has a quote from him explaining how he got his start in the adult film industry.
"A friend of mine asked if I bottomed, I said, 'Occasionally.' His curiosity to see me bottom is kinda how it started. One day he called and said it was all lined up and all I had to do was email Dark Alley and it was a done deal."
