Axe Murder and Cannibalism and Graham Crackers, Oh My!

Axe murder, cannibalism and graham crackers, oh my!
Generations Christian radio host Pastor Kevin Swanson, is the latest right wing mouthpiece to voice objection to Nabisco's Honey Maid ad, which features a same-sex couple, Right Wing Watch reports.
Honey Maid's "wholesome" commercial really struck a nerve with Swanson, who somehow linked the graham cracker campaign and being gay to murder and cannibalism on his Generations Radio show. He also argued that Nabisco was "going to lose business" due to the controversial ad.
"When you come down to things like axe murder or homosexuality and you say, 'We're really going to promote it and we're going to encourage everybody in America to engage in this or at least support this thing,' there will be people on the other side who will take an adamantly opposed position to your support of axe murdering or homosexuality," the pastor said. "They will be intolerant -- they will be very intolerant of that which is evil, like axe murdering."
Swanson went on to say that Nabisco might create another commercial promoting bestiality.
"Maybe they had another family where a dog is the wife with a human husband," he said. "Homosexuals love their friends and cannibals love their victims -- they taste good."
Swanson is the latest ultra conservative to lash out at the LGBT ad, which has received an overall positive response. Prior to Swanson's slasher film metaphor, One Million Moms launched a boycott which was quickly joined by the American Decency Association.
Honey Maid Graham Crackers aren't the first cookies to be attacked by Swanson, as previously reported by EDGE , Swanson urged his listeners not to buy Girl Scout Cookies.
"The individualism of feminism has been devastating to this country. I'd say you ought to say no to the Girl Scout cookies too," said Swanson in a broadcast on his Internet radio station. "I don't want to support lesbianism, I don't want to support Planned Parenthood and I don't want to support abortion, and if that be the case, I'm not buying Girl Scout cookies."
Perhaps Swanson has issue with gluten. Maybe he might want to consider laying off sweets altogether.
