Donald Trump Not Thrilled About Michael Sam Kissing His Boyfriend

For those out there dying to know what real estate tycoon Donald Trump thinks about Michael Sam, the Huffington Post reports today that the comb-over queen is not thrilled about the kiss the gay athlete planted on his boyfriend, Vito Cammisano.

The 2013 SEC C-Defensive Player of the Year became the first openly gay player drafted into the NFL this weekend, when the St. Louis Rams picked him in the seventh round of the draft.

"Thank you to the St. Louis Rams and the whole city of St. Louis. I'm using every ounce of this to achieve greatness!!!" wrote Sam on his Twitter Feed.

Sam cried, kissed his partner and then playfully smashed a slice of cake into Cammisano's face. ESPN captured the reaction, and while Trump said he thought it was "great" that Sam was drafted, he added that if everyone else thought the kiss was cool, then OK, but that he thought it was "pretty out there."

"I've heard many people -- I'm not even speaking for myself, but I've heard many people that thought the display after he was chosen was inappropriate," said Trump. "And whether or not it was, I don't know. But it was certainly out there a little bit. And I'm very happy that he got chosen, I'm all for it. I think it's great actually that he got chosen. I hope he does so well. But I thought when he -- he was really going at it... I haven't seen anything like that in a while."

And Trump wasn't the only one who thought the two men kissing was too much for prime time. It as reported that former Mississippi basketball player Marshall Henderson saying he would boycott SportsCenter over the footage, saying, "My brothers are 7 and 11 and saw that..."

Old Miss athletic director Ross Bjork quickly rebuked Henderson, stating, "We believe in respect & dignity for all."

It was also reported that former New York Giants player Derrick Ward was outraged by the kiss.

"Man U got little kids lookin at the draft. I can't believe ESPN even allowed that to happen," he continued. "The paring your tongue into the other persons mouth is a little over board. But people seen that as oh I'm bashing him because he's gay. Who cares!!!," Tweeted Ward.

To their credit, ESPN and other networks didn't miss a beat over showing footage of the same-sex kiss. Producer Seth Markman, who oversees NFL draft coverage for ESPN, said that he thought it was great emotion, and was really surprised by the media kerfuffle the kiss had caused.

"When I got home last night and saw the attention (it was receiving), it kind of threw me," he said. "We're a young production crew and quite honestly it was just another moment in the years we've done this."

And in what might be the cutest misunderstanding ever, Markman's 7-year-old son reportedly asked whether people were upset about the controversial kiss: "Is it because they're not married?"
