Harrumph :: Dallas Morning Talk Show Host Storms Off Set Over Sam Discussion

A local talk show host for a Dallas news station walked off the set Tuesday morning after getting into a heated debate with her co-hosts over ESPN's coverage of Michael Sam kissing his boyfriend, Gawker reports.

Amy Kuchnir, who hosts Dallas' morning show "The Broadcast" (basically a low rent version of "The View") with three other women on KTXD, said that the iconic peck is "being pushed in faces" and spewed the classic Helen Lovejoy mantra "won't somebody please think of the children" before dashing off stage, effectively ending the debate.

"When parents do not have a choice about whether or not they want their children to see this, it is wrong," she said. "I don't call it a moment of celebration...It's being pushed in faces. I don't want to see that. I don't want to see cake in your face, kissing each other."

During the debate, Kuchnir co-host Courtney Kerr did her best to defend Sam's kiss and said that those who are upset over the kiss are "racist toward homosexuals." Another co-host, Suzie Humphreys, who looked like she was over it from the get-go, sided with Kuchnir and said she is frustrated that she can't vocalize her problems with gay people without being called a bigot. Humphreys also somehow linked Twitter and Facebook to LGBT equality, saying gay acceptance "all has to do with social media, the whole thing."
