Facebook Gets LGBT Stickers for Pride Month

Jason St. Amand READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Facebook just got a little gayer.

Ever send one of those adorable Pusheen cat stickers to a friend on Facebook? Or those goofy smiley faces or and of the several emoji / graphics Facebook provides? Well, now you can send similar images to celebrate the LGBTQ community as Facebook debuted a number of LGBTQ stickers last weekend in honor of Pride Month.

The social media giant launched 28 stickers to celebrate Pride Month in June. The colorful images show a wide spectrum of the LGBTQ community, including gay marriage, RuPaul, bears and much more. You can install the stickers on your Facebook messenger by downloading them for free at its Sticker Store.

"Facebook is celebrating Pride by adding these free Facebook Messenger stickers to the Sticker Store," a representative of Facebook said in a statement (via the Huffington Post). "We see this as one more way we can make Facebook a place where people can express their authentic identity."

The stickers come after Facebook added a customizable option in February with about 50 different terms people can use to identify their gender, as well as three preferred pronoun choices: him, her or them.
