City Hall Plaza Ready for Pride

The structural safety of Boston's City Hall Plaza has been in the news this week - the Boston Herald reported that "Weidlinger Associates stated that the structure could collapse at any moment a week before the concerts began," and had called the Plaza "structurally unsafe." The report was issued just days before a huge Memorial Day concert on City Hall Plaza.
Michael Galvin, the head of the city's Property Management Division, made emergency repairs before the concert.
So with thousands of revelers about to attend the Boston Pride Festival on Boston's City Hall Plaza on Saturday, June 14, how safe is City Hall Plaza?
Kate Norton, spokesperson for Mayor Marty Walsh, says that although the Boston Pride Committee has not inquired directly about public safety on the Plaza, city managers "have been in informal, ongoing conversations with members of the Pride Committee."
"The repairs are completed and done," said Norton. "We expect everyone to enjoy the Pride Festival on City Hall Plaza."
