Anti-Gay Activist Condemns Servicemen, Boy Scouts

After nearly a million onlookers and participants applauded the generations of Boy Scouts and military service members who marched down Fifth Avenue in the New York City LGBT Pride March on Sunday, Linda Harvey, radio host of "christian" organization Mission America decried the move to participate as an "insult," Right Wing Watch reports.
Linda Harvey, hate-monger, author and champion of archaic hairstyling choices, took to her radio show Wednesday to condemn military service members who marched in Sunday's Gay Pride March in New York City. The anti-gay activist also took aim at the generations of Boy Scouts who led the march down Fifth Avenue as the event's color guard.
"Is anyone who insists on open homosexual behavior in our military the kind of soldier we need? I don't think so. And here's the basic issue: no one needs to be doing this behavior in the first place," Harvey said. "It's an insult to fellow soldiers, and in a Boy Scout situation, it's an insult to the boys."
Harvey then warned that such participation would lead to pedophilia and urged parents to keep their kids out of the scouts.
"And yes, open that door and there will be a flood of those interested in having sexual contact with young males," she said. "It's the reality that has existed since the beginning of human history, some people insist on this sin and they insist on it with children. It's the really selfish adults or clueless ones who would expose kids to danger like this.
Friends, if you have a son or daughter in the Scouts, remove them as soon as possible," she continued. "They're already hearing about this and learning misinformation. This lifestyle is not how anyone is born and it is certainly not gay."
Wednesday's comments were par for the course for Harvey, whose Columbus, Ohio, based organization Mission America was listed as an active anti-gay hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
In August 2011, Harvey stated on her weekend radio show that, "there is no proof that there's ever anything like a gay, lesbian or bisexual or transgendered child, or teen or human," and that openly gay people should not be allowed to teach in public schools.
