Oregon Gay Marriage Lawyers Awarded Legal Fees

A federal judge has approved more than $133,000 in legal fees to one group of lawyers in Oregon's gay marriage case.

The money goes to three Portland lawyers who filed the first lawsuit challenging Oregon's ban on same-sex marriage.

The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/dwe0bn ) the state also will pay the legal fees for a second group of lawyers who worked with the American Civil Liberties Union, but the amount has not been announced.

The cases led to the May 19 ruling by U.S. District Judge Michael McShane allowing same-sex couples to marry in Oregon.
