PopUps: Taylor Swift Releases White Noise 'Song;' Goes to No. 1

A theory has been proven: It appears that Taylor Swift, who is currently the biggest pop star in the world, could release audio of her farting and fans would fork over money to own it.

The 24-year-old mega star topped the iTunes chart in Canada Tuesday by releasing an eight-second clip of white noise, Business Insider reports.

Though it's more likely a glitch or a mistake, it didn't stop fans from buying the song, called "Track 3" (sorry Blur fans), which skyrocketed to no. 1 on Canada's iTunes top tracks list. The song even defeated Tay Tay's other official released songs, "Shake it Off," "Out of the Woods" and "Welcome to New York."

Fans paid $1.29 for the eight-seconds of noise, in hopes they were getting a new single before Swift's upcoming album, "1989," is released on Oct. 27.

But according to CNN, iTunes has yanked the song and it is no longer available to download. Damn it!

Officials from Apple, or anyone from Swift's camp, have yet to comment on "Track 3."

You can listen to the "song" over at Business Insider.
