Winnie McCroy READ TIME: 2 MIN.
On Friday, October 31, Boston's Dyke Night and "Cheers for Queers" will hold their 16th Annual Raven Halloween Costume Ball, at the Milky Way. As usual, the event will feature a hot costume contest with more than $1,000 in prizes for the top four winners.
"The highlight of this event for many is the free tarot readings. Each attendee has an opportunity to receive a tarot reading from a professional reader," said organizer Kristen Porter. "This year we have two readers coming from NYC with decades of professional experience."
Porter said that the annual costume ball is a night of tricks and treats. Your creativity is rewarded with over $1,000 in prizes with three winners: Best Couple/Group, Best Fictional Character, & Best in Show. Prizes include gift cards from Milky Way, Craft Beer, City Girl, Diesel and Liquid Hair, to name a few.
Dinner is served till 10 p.m. (reservations recommended to hold your spot). Then enjoy out-of-this-world cocktails, and partake in a highlight of this annual event, the free tarot readings.
DJ Jodi will rock the stacks. Her musical style is simply to keep her crowd happy so you'll hear a mix of top 40 & hip-hop, peppered with retro, rock, Latin & old school and your requests.
The evening's entertainment is co-sponsored by the GLBTQ Domestic Violence Project.
The 16th Annual Raven Halloween Costume Ball will run from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 at Milky Way at The Brewery 284 Amory Street Jamaica Plain MA 02130. Cover is $10; 21+ only. For information, visit www.dykenight.com or https://www.facebook.com/events/904795269548053
