GMHC and Monster Cycle Host 4th Annual Indoor Cycling Event
EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.
On Saturday, Jan. 24, Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) and The Monster Cycle will host a three-hour indoor cycling fundraiser to benefit GMHC's programs. "Be Monstrous. Fight AIDS." will consist of three 45-minute classes.
"We are honored to partner with GMHC for this important benefit," said co-founder Michael MacNeal, a cycling instructor for six years. "With more people living successfully with HIV, The Monster Cycle is excited to bring joy to the fight against AIDS! What better way to support GMHC than with the edgiest indoor-cycling experience and the best instructors in NYC."
Participants can register as a team of three people or a person can ride solo if she/he is up for the challenge. Each team is responsible for raising a minimum of $750.00 (which can be split among three people). Top fundraising teams will receive special awards and acknowledgement at the fundraiser.
Located in fashionable SoHo, The Monster Cycle features indoor visual cycling classes in a pitch black BASSment. The only light comes from two large LCD screens surrounding the instructors. Every ride is a multimedia experience set to the beat of the latest music videos. The Monster Cycle's philosophy is that "Fitness is the New Nightlife."
Featured in fitness media like Well + Good, the New York Times, and the New York Post, The Monster Cycle format continues to push the envelope of indoor cycling in New York City. The studio revels in Darkness and Beats, never afraid to find the edge while delivering the best work out in NYC.
Newly partnered with The Monster Cycle, Y7 yoga, a staple in Williamsburg, has moved in with The Monster Cycle.
"We are grateful for our friends at The Monster Cycle for hosting 'Be Monstrous. Fight AIDS' so that GMHC can continue to provide needed services to those living with HIV and AIDS," said Kelsey Louie, GMHC's CEO. "Their generosity connects beautifully with one of the definitions of the word monstrous -- extremely and dauntingly large, often carries suggestions of fabulousness. This is a superb way to start off the new year."
Sponsors of the fundraiser include Broken Shed New Zealand Vodka, Fiji Water and Salud/Drink to Life.
The Monster Cycle and Y7 Yoga event will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, January 24 at The Monster Cycle and Studio, 182 Lafayette Street between Broome & Grand Streets in New York City.
