From February 24-27, women will show off their independence while raising funds for a good cause in La Sharienne Dakhia, an all-women race between the desert and ocean to help charities in the south of Morocco.

La Saharienne Dakhla gives women an opportunity to show off their independence while raising funds for a good cause. Each team consists of two women competing in various athletic categories including trailing, biking, canoeing, and running. The women will also camp over night during their stay.

The event is being organized by Bruno Pomard, known for having developed the Solid'Air Raid, which joins Paris to Saint Louis of Senegal. It was created to help bring in school supplies to Morocco along the course of the race.

Founded four years ago, their primary goal is to help out "solo mothers" with finances, childcare, and employment. Contestants can also earn money for a charity of their choice. Proceeds from the upcoming event will go to the K'D'Urgences foundation which helps single mothers.
