Chartreuse Deuce? Burger King's Halloween Whopper Turns Poop Green

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Consumers of Burger King's A1 Halloween Whopper with the black bun are getting a double surprise. It appears that the limited edition looks just as unusual exiting as it does entering. According to various news reports, the sandwich with the black bun, which debuted last week, is reportedly turning some people's poop green.

The bun, which was a sensation when used in Japan, is making its debut with the Halloween Whopper. But unlike the Japanese version that used bamboo charcoal for both flavor and coloring, the U.S. version uses A1 steak sauce. ABC News reports the amount of dye used in each bun is less than 1 percent, and safe for public consumption.

Dr. Robert Glatter of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York told Fox News that burger lovers shouldn't be alarmed, and noted that the Food and Drug Administration considers these dyes safe for public consumption. Also, similar reactions occur when people eat natural foods like beets, or consume of large amounts green vegetables.

The leprechaun fecal effect of the novelty burger has sparked a scatological sensation on Twitter, with users employing the hashtag #greenpoop to share their experiences.
