David Mixner Hosts Point Foundation Fundraiser in Atlanta
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
On Thursday, October 29 at Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta, join civil rights activist, political firebrand and author David Mixner on his metaphorical front porch for a theatrical oral history covering milestones in 20th century lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender history.

"I hope this show will inspire people to discover more about the history and the contributions of the LGBTQ community -- especially during October which is LGBTQ history month," said Mixner. "LGBTQ youth must know that they have an incredible history that should fill them with pride as well as courage, power and dignity."
Appearing with Mixner for a one-night-only performance of "Oh Hell No!" is music star Chely Wright, along with acclaimed performer Chris Bolan. The evening is a benefit for Point Foundation (Point), which provides higher education scholarships, mentoring and leadership training to LGBTQ students.

Mixner, once named by Newsweek as the most powerful gay man in America, gives an intimate, first-person account of LGBT history from the perspective of a man who has lived it; as an activist on the street, to being a trusted adviser to presidents and prime ministers.

"David is a storyteller of great insight and power, as well as a trailblazer for the kind of social justice focused education and advocacy that we expect of Point Scholars," said Judith Light, Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actress and Point Foundation Honorary Board Member."'Oh Hell No!' is not to be missed by anyone who cares about where the LGBTQ and allied community is going."
The event is sponsored nationally by Toyota Financial Services, with Spotlight Sponsors Wells Fargo and Arnall Golden Gregory LLP. Friends of Point include Joining Hearts/Out on Film.
Point Foundation empowers promising LGBTQ students to achieve their full academic and leadership potential -- despite the obstacles often put before them -- to make a significant impact on society. Since 2001, Point has invested more than $18 million in the education and support of Point Scholars, making it the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students of merit.

For 2015-2016, Point is supporting 85 Scholars. The Foundation promotes change through scholarship funding, mentorship, leadership development and community service training.
General Admission $75; VIP $150 (includes admission to after-party). A limited number of student tickets are available for $35.
"Oh Hell No!," a Fundraising event for Point Foundation, will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 29 at Woodruff Arts Center, Hill Auditorium, 1280 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.
