Aussie Lesbian Road Movie to Screen in New York City 12/2

A special New York City premiere of "All About E," a sexy, funny and rollicking Aussie crime film with strong lesbian characters and a rollercoaster plot that weaves in complex issues about identity, family and sexuality, will screen at the AMC Kips Bay Theater in Manhattan.
Wolfe Video will release "All About E" on DVD and VOD on December 1, 2015. It will also preview at the Long Island Gay and Lesbian Film Festival on November 13, 2015.
Principal actor Mandahla Rose and a panel of experts including Merryn John, Editor-In Chief of Curve magazine, Allie Essinger, Founder of Sectionii.com and Ileana Jimenez, feminist academic, will be at the Manhattan screening for a Q and A on 12/2.

"All About E" enjoyed its Australian premiere on Sat. Feb 21, 2015 at the Mardi Gras Film Festival with an 800 seat sell out. It also screened to another sold-out crowd at Melbourne Queer Film festival on March 29, 2015. "All About E" is Girls' Own Pictures' first feature film. Director Louise Wadley and producer Jay Rutovitz set up the company to develop and produce original stories with exciting female lead characters. Their crowd funding campaign for The Trouble with E earlier this year raised $94,000 and was the one of the most successful Pozible campaigns for an Australian feature film.

Beautiful sexy E seems to have it all. She cuts a swathe through hordes of adoring fans at the Sydney gay night club where she is headline DJ and takes home a different girl every night. Her Spanish theme nights are a huge success as she dazzles in her Matador outfit, designed by her best friend and manager, Matt. But looks can be deceiving. E is not Spanish - she's actually Elmira and not out to her traditional Lebanese parents, who harass her about finding a suitable husband. E passes off her beloved, Trish, as the lodger. When E betrays her dream of becoming a professional musician by making a deal with the devil, nightclub owner Johnny Rock, it is the final straw. Trish leaves. Broken hearted, E marries Matt to give herself a cover and him a visa.
One day E and Matt stumble on a bag of cash. Fantasizing about setting up their own club, they take the money and run. But doors are slammed in their faces as E realizes she has burnt too many bridges. Soon they are left with nowhere to go except E's parents. A late night call reveals the money belongs to Johnny, who threatens them with a three-hour ultimatum. But E has had enough. She decides to teach the controlling Svengali a lesson. She heads into the outback to the one person who sees through her disguise, Trish, who broke her heart. Matt and E arrive to find Trish in the middle of a forced sale of the family farm and unimpressed with their story. Desperate, they persuade Trish to let them stay.
Trish and E do an awkward dance but can't stay away from each other. Trish wakes to E making excuses yet again, and is furious for allowing E back into her heart. She asks her friend Bev, the local crop duster, to fly them to safety and away from her. But Johnny tracks them down. In a final struggle E has to confront Johnny and make a decision. Who is she and does she have the courage to fight for what she really wants? "All About E" is about hopes and dreams buried so deep you don't even know they are there. Sometimes you have to travel a long way to find out who you are.
