Marga Gomez's 'Pound' Returns to Theatre Off Jackson

EDGE READ TIME: 1 MIN.

On December 4 and 11, Marga Gomez brings her new solo comedy, the 2015 Off-Off-Broadway hit "Pound" back to the Theatre Off Jackson, by popular demand.

In "Pound," a mysterious lesbian gynecologist diagnoses Marga Gomez with a condition known as "unplanned celibacy." Gomez tries to break her dry spell with online dating and a 'stranger danger' ladies room tryst that sends her through a vaginal portal to a wi-fi cloud of notorious lesbian movie character from the '60s to the present.

"Pound" penetrates the cinematic lesbian limbo where plumbers, showgirls, murderers and school teachers hook up in spectacularly meta ways.

Gomez is the writer/ performer of eleven solo plays that have been performed nationally and internationally. Her stage work earned her a GLAAD Media Award, Theater LA's Ovation Award and a nomination for New York's Drama Desk Award.

Gomez is also one of the nation's first openly gay standup comedians with television appearances on HBO, Showtime and LOGO. She is a long-time favorite comedian on Olivia Cruises along with Lisa Koch and other mermaids and sailor girls.

The event is 18+ only.

"Pound" will be held at 9 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 11 at Theatre Off Jackson, 409 7th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104. Tickets are $18-20. For information or tickets, call TheatreOffJackson.org
