The Ohio-based anti-LGBT hate group, which came out against GOP presidential hopeful Ben Carson for being pro-gay by association, announced it will hold a press conference Friday to denounce the city council of Cincinnati's decision to ban gay conversion therapy for minors in the city.
"Citizens for Community Values will hold a press conference calling on Cincinnati City Council to rescind the ordinance that prohibits counselors from helping youth who have unwanted same-sex attraction," reads a media advisory distributed by the group Wednesday.
"CCV believes the failure to provide counseling to youth who have unwanted same-sex attraction will lead to harm and even suicide. A seminar to help pastors and church leaders help youth who have unwanted same-sex attractions will follow the press conference."
The press conference speakers lined up by CCV include, David Pickup, Gary Ingraham and Melissa Ingraham, and are either involved in practicing conversion therapy or have a personal stake in the practice.
CCV has a long history of anti-LGBT, anti-pornography and anti-abortion activism.
In April of 2015, the group turned against conservative Carson because he endorsed Ohio Senator Rob Portman, who has a gay son.
"[I]f you come out and endorse a candidate who believes in same-sex marriage, then that pretty much puts you into the same camp," they said of Carson.
