Ms. Foundation Announces Top 10 Feminist Celebs of 2015

The Ms. Foundation for Women announced that Rowan Blanchard and Amandla Stenberg received the most votes for Feminist Celebrity of 2015. Blanchard and Stenberg topped the online survey promoted by the Ms. Foundation, in partnership with Cosmopolitan.com.

"We celebrate all feminists every day, but today we're acknowledging celebrities who help promote equality for all genders," said Ms. Foundation for Women President and CEO Teresa C. Younger.

Last year, Emma Watson topped the list of celebrities in the first annual Feminist Celebrity of the Year survey. This year the Feminist Celebrity of the Year survey was done as part of the the Foundation's #MyFeminismIs multimedia campaign. The aim of the campaign is to invite anyone who believes in the definition of Feminism as "the social, economic and political equality of ALL genders" to "tell us what your Feminism Is..." Through user-generated content, the Ms. Foundation is helping feminists paint the true face of Feminism in the United States.

"Celebrities who embrace Feminism or speak out for equality are using their voice to guide the larger conversation around equal rights," Younger said. "We hope, that through our annual Feminist Celebrity of the Year survey, we are highlighting celebrities who believe in Feminism and expanding the conversation to even more people."
