Coming off the heels of a headline-making performance at the ACM Awards in early April, internationally renowned superstar, Dolly Parton is heading out on her largest North American tour in over two decades that makes a stop in Boston on Tuesday, June 21 at 8 pm.
Tickets, priced $69, $99, $149, $249 (plus applicable fees) go on sale this Friday, May 13 at 10:00 am at the Citi Performing Arts Center Box Office, Citicenter.org, by phone at 800-982-ARTS (800-982-2787) and via Ticketmaster.
Dolly Parton's Pure & Simple Tour coincides with the summer release of her double-disc album "Pure & Simple with Dolly's Biggest Hits." The collection will include some of Parton's most popular singles as well as a few new tracks. Parton's set list will include the hits her fans love along with a few new songs from the double-disc album. She will also be playing songs that have not been heard live for decades.
The entertainment icon is on one of the biggest hot streaks of her career after her hugely successful TV movie, "Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors," broadcast December 2015 attracted a network record of more than 15 million viewers.
Over the course of her illustrious career, Dolly has had 25 songs reach No. 1 on the Billboard Country charts, garnered 7 Grammy Awards, 10 Country Music Association Awards, 5 Academy of Country Music Awards, 3 American Music Awards and received Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year Award.
Her acclaimed film roles include the 1980 hit comedy "9 to 5," "Steel Magnolias," "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," "Rhinestone" and "Straight Talk." The Country Music Hall of Fame inductee also has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, opened her own theme park, Dollywood and in 2004, the U.S. Library of Congress presented her with their Living Legend Award for her contribution to the cultural heritage of the United States.
