New TV Series About Homeless LGBTQ Youth Launches Crowdfunding Campaign

"House of Mayhem," a new episodic series about homeless LGBTQ Youth, is launching a major crowdfunding campaign on September 12.

Based on the GLAAD Award-nominated play "Auntie Mayhem" by David Pumo, "House of Mayhem" is a raw, unflinching look at bullied, abandoned gay and transgender kids, and the unique and alternative families they create.

The series was inspired by Pumo's real-life legal work with LGBTQ teens who across the country account for 40-50 percent of entire homeless youth, and a third of all teen suicides.

"House of Mayhem" will star prominent trans actress Carmen Carrera and "RuPaul's Drag Race's" Ginger Minj. Moe Bertran, Ivan Davila, Esther Moon and newcomers Norio Chalico, Quei Tann, and Cruz Santiago are rounding out the cast.

The series is created and directed by award-winning filmmaker Henry Alberto, from a script by co-creator David Pumo, and produced by Riley Hinrichs. Asher Lewis is Executive Producer.

In addition to the crowdfunding campaign, "House of Mayhem" has also been selected as one of the Top 5 finalists for Project Greenlight's "See Yourself" competition, which awards filmmakers with a development deal to produce their series with a focus on themes relevant to LGBTQ audiences.
