Portland's Siren Nation Festival Celebrates Its 10-Year Anniversary!

From November 3-14, the 2016 Siren Nation Festival presents a stunning musical line-up, a night of the best lady comedians from the NW, a visual art show with 65 outstanding NW artists, an art and craft sale and free workshops!

The event kicks off on Thursday, November 3 with Celebration! A Group Art Show, at the Antoinette Hatfield Hall / Portland'5 Centers for the Arts, 1111 SW Broadway. Portland, OR 97205. Stoneface Honey is an Indie band based in Portland, Oregon and led by singer/songwriter, Angie Kopshy. We are chick rock -- heavy on the keys and female vocals. "Shoes to Fill" was released last November as a teaser for our upcoming album,�"Long Time Waiting." On Wednesday, November 9, enjoy Wild Reeds with Valley Queen, at the Mississippi Studios. The Wild Reeds�have transformed from a three-part harmony driven band to a full indie folk rock force that has been sweeping the West Coast. In the past year The Wild Reeds have toured alongside artist such as Noah Gundersen and Israel Nash while also making an appearance at festivals such as Newport Folk Festival's sister of the West, Way Over Yonder, Make Music Pasadena, Echo Park Rising, Claremont Folk Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, and successfully captured large audiences every Monday night in December with their Holiday Residency at The Satellite. Valley Queen�front woman Natalie Carol leads a band reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac and My Morning jacket with lead vocals evocative of Florence Welch. Stylistically she explores the lines intersected by RnB, soul, and dance music, built using an electronic toolkit developed by years of discipline. Crater�is a Seattle-based electronic pop duo consisting of Ceci Gomez and Kessiah Gordon. The band has toured nationally with the likes of Canadian goth pop artist TR/ST and glitter pop band MS MR. At 9 p.m. that evening, Mississippi Studios is the spot for Paper Bird with the Ballroom Thieves. For�Paper Bird, their new album marks a milestone. More importantly, it provides them with a new beginning, a new chapter in their trajectory that sees them redefining their direction, a change in their musical sensibility while maintaining their trademark upbeat attitude. The band's self-titled album, available September 9th on Thirty Tigers Records/ Sons of Thunder Records, introduces vocalist Carleigh Aikins to the lineup, whose previous credits include extended stints with the critically acclaimed bands Bahamas and Fox Jaws. Her addition to the band adds an extra edge, highlighting a clear sonic evolution. The Siren Nation Festival wraps up on Monday, November 14 with a performance from Jenny Hval, at 8 p.m. at Holocene. Norwegian artist and writer�Jenny Hval�has developed her distinct take on intimate sound since the release of her debut album in 2006.
