Second Late-to-the-Party 'Christian' Claims Houston Hurricane Is God's Wrath
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Radio host and disgraced football coach Dave Daubenmire doesn't "want to appear to be judgmental." So he's letting God's wrath do the talking.
On his "Pass the Salt Live" webcast on Tuesday, "Coach" Dave Daubenmire weighed in with his take on what caused the storm that brought record floods to Houston.
Unsurprisingly, Daubenmire sees the situation as some Old Testament-like divine retribution.
"Houston, we got a problem here," Daubenmire said. "Could some of the problems be the result of the judgment of God coming your way because of the slaughter of unborn children? You had a lesbian mayor who wanted to look at the prayers of pastors in their churches. It's debaucherous."
"People tell me that Houston, Texas, is one of the darkest cities in America," he continued. "Isn't it amazing, Katrina slammed New Orleans-we know about voodoo and the darkness in New Orleans. Then it moved right down the coast to Houston, Texas ... Boom, here it comes, now it's underwater. Water is a sign of judgment and cleansing. Is now not the time for the voice of the church to rise up and declare, 'Let's stop killing the babies!'"
He concluded: "I don't want this to appear to be judgmental, but I don't know what else to do!"
Daubenmire is a retired football coach who came to the public attention in the mid-1990s when he was sued by the ACLU for coercing his students to pray.
According to The Encyclopedia of American Loons, on the subject of homosexuality, Daubenmire has said: ""[I'm] not homo-phobic. I'm not homo-hateful. I'm not homo-latent. I'm homo-nauseous. I really couldn't care less where a man desires to put his appendage. But I'm sick of hearing about it. I'm sick of talking about it. I'm sick of it being force fed to me on TV."
Daubenmire's comments on the Houston disaster Tuesday echo those made by End Times radio host Rick Wiles who said of the the city that was ranked one of "the top-tier, most gay-friendly cities in America": "How's it working out for them right now? Here's a city that has boasted of its LGBT devotion, its affinity for the sexual perversion movement in America. They're underwater."
