LA Theatre Works Honors 'Woman in Gold' Attorney E. Randol Schoenberg

On Wednesday, September 27, L.A. Theatre Works Celebrates the Pursuit of Justice kicks off its 2017-18 season with a special one-night-only event.

The evening's honoree is famed attorney E. Randol Schoenberg, who successfully litigated the return of five Gustav Klimt paintings from the Austrian government to the rightful heirs, as featured in the film "Woman in Gold" starring Helen Mirren.

The evening, hosted by Hector Elizondo, will include a performance of LATW's 2016-17 acclaimed national touring production of "Judgment at Nuremberg" by Abby Mann, followed by a, discussion about the challenges of the pursuit of justice then and now with Schoenberg and Geoffrey Cowan (Chair of USC Annenberg School's Center on Communication Leadership and Policy).

"Judgement at Nuremberg" features LATW's National Touring Company including Abby Mann, directed by Brian Kite and featuring Ron Bottitta, Josh Clark, Jeff Gardner, Kip Gilman, Shannon Holt, Dylan Jones, Matthew Floyd Miller and John Vickery.

Straight from our acclaimed national tour, "Judgment at Nuremberg" is one of the great courtroom dramas of the last century.

Following the performance, there will also be a conversation with E. Randol Schoenberg, the winner of numerous awards in the field of litigation, who represented Maria Altmann in Republic of Austria v. Altmann" resulting in the successful return of five Gustav Klimt paintings as depicted in the film "Woman in Gold," starring Helen Mirren. Schoenberg will converse with USC Professor Geoffrey Cowan to discuss the complexities and triumphs of achieving true justice, then and now. The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and conclude with a dessert reception.

The LATW Celebrates the Pursuit of Justice event will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, 9390 N Santa Monica Blvd. Beverly Hills, CA 90210. Tickets start at $175.
