KCRW's Masquerade Ball

With a plethora of Halloween festivities to choose from in Los Angeles, it is almost impossible to decide what type of event is right for you. It can almost be a burden to pick between a club, a concert, a dance party, or a number of other fright-filled soirees.

For those who need some help, LA's beloved public radio station, KCRW, has that department covered with the best costume party in town.

On October 28, KCRW's Masquerade Ball came back to the timeless MacArthur in Downtown Los Angeles after a two-year break, and it did not disappoint. The night is jam-packed with an abundance of bizarre and outlandish performances that keep visitors mesmerized.

The experience incorporated a mixture of prodigious DJs, captivating dancers, a theater playing snippets of classic horror slashers and much more. This 21-and-older event has something different for all those seeking an extravagant Halloween celebration.

The luxurious number of halls at the MacArthur provided the perfect scene for guests to move freely to any of the wonderful performances of the night.

KCRW's Masquerade Ball was host to one of the best DJ line-ups in LA. The artists include Matthew Dear, Tensnake, Moon Boots, Gemini Rising, Yolanda Be Cool, and The Black Madonna.

The ball also included some KCRW's very own talented DJs such as Aaron Byrd, Jason Bentley, Valida, Marion Hodges, Anne Litt, and much more.

Lucent Dossier and Les Petites Bonbons were the perfect pair to provide amazing performance artists and acts to enhance the all-star dance party. The Axon Orchestra also served a spectacular combination of tunes with their traveling speaker backpacks allowing the party to continue throughout every inch of the venue.

As if that was not enough entertainment for the night, KCRW also included the always entertaining Lucha VaVoom that shocked the audience with talented and hilarious masked Mexican wrestling and entrancing dance performances.

The main highlight of the night, however, are the guests that come dressed to impress with witty, creative, and sometimes scandalous costumes. The backlot area of the MacArthur was open for attendees to mingle, eat, and take advantage of the Flipbooth photo station.

With a full bar, dance floors, luchadores, burlesque, and so much more, the KCRW Masquerade Ball is the cr�me de la cr�me of Halloween blowouts. It is also a plus that the ticket proceeds support KCRW and fund the incredible content they provide on a daily basis.
