Dolly Parton Appears on Harry's Halloween Show
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Dolly Parton will get into the Halloween spirit with an in-costume appearance on Harry Connick's Halloween Show. She's playing Veruca Salt as part of Connick's "Willy Wonka"-themed set.
Parton will be chatting with Harry about her new children's album, "I Believe In You," which was released on October 13 and is Parton's first album written and recorded for kids and those young at heart. All 14 tracks on "I Believe In You" were written and performed by Dolly Parton.
Proceeds from the album will benefit Imagination Library, which was established in 1995 to honor Parton's father, who never had the chance to learn to read or write.

It's all part of Parton's Halloween festivities, which include her Dollywood Harvest Festival, highlighted by the Great Pumpkin Luminights.
This marks the first time the Smoky Mountain theme park has opened every day, and stayed open after dark, during its family-favorite harvest fest. The expanded schedule allows Dollywood to provide guests with even more autumn experiences.
"Fall truly is the most beautiful time of year here in the Smokies," said Parton. "I love coming home to see the amazing masterpiece God has painted across the mountains."
Parton said that the folks at Dollywood always do a great job at making sure the park looks stunning, with the fall colors as a backdrop.
"This year we're adding even more fun to the festival with Great Pumpkin LumiNights, and I know families are going to love all those glowing pumpkin displays up through Timber Canyon," said Parton. "I used to love sitting around with my brothers and sisters during fall carving pumpkins and tellin' stories, but I don't think our pumpkins turned out quite the same as these, though!"
