AIDS Fund Kicks Off GayBINGO with Lady Gaga's 'Perfect Illusion'

On November 18 in Philadelphia, AIDS Fund Philly launches their 22nd season of GayBINGO with Perfect Illusion GayBINGO featuring a Lady Gaga theme. The series, held at the Gershman Y, raises emergency funds for those living with HIV in the Greater Philadelphia Region.

GayBINGO is the fabulous, irreverent, campy, wildly popular monthly event that has been entertaining Philadelphia audiences for over 20 years. Celebrating a different theme each month, hundreds of people pack the hall in Center City's Gershman Y for a night of good old-fashioned Bingo... with a decidedly different twist!

GayBINGO is hosted by the infamous Bingo Verifying Divas (BVDs!) -- a wild bunch of drag queens who entertain the crowd with their wacky humor and always outrageous costumes. GayBINGO promises to be an evening of unbridled fun, complete with ridiculous musical numbers, hilarious drag queen antics, chances to win fabulous prizes, and much, much more!

GayBINGO was named Best of Philly (Gay Event), won PGN's Lambda Award for Best Fundraiser, and was the subject of a popular WHYY documentary. GayBINGO has also been featured in the LA Times, Washington Post, and USA Today. The event has raised over $3.7 million to date. GayBINGO sponsors are Philly AIDS Thrift, Tavern on Camac, UBar, Kimmel Center, Woody's, RMA of Philadelphia, and Starbucks.

The event raises funds for AIDS Fund, which provides emergency financial assistance to people living with HIV disease in the Greater Philadelphia region, while providing education and increasing public awareness of HIV/AIDS issues.

AIDS Fund produces a variety of fundraising and awareness programs throughout the year, including AIDS Walk Philly, AIDS Run Philly, GayBINGO, Black-Tie GayBINGO, and Workplace Giving Campaigns. AIDS Fund is also the Philadelphia affiliate of The Names Project, curating panels of The AIDS Memorial Quilt for a local audience.

  • February 10, 2018 - Mardi Gras Madness GayBINGO! - "Throw on your mask and bring on the beads!"

  • March 10, 2018 - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun GayBINGO! - "Take it back to the '80s and be the one to walk in the sun!"

    This fun event is open to anyone who enjoys campy humor. Cash prizes will be awarded. Tickets for GayBINGO are on sale at http://www.aidsfundphilly.org/gaybingo. Reserved seating tickets on the Bingo floor are $30. General admission tickets in the balcony are $25.

    All GayBINGO games will be held at the Gershman Y, 401 S. Broad at Pine Street, Philadelphia. Doors open at 6 p.m., games begin at 7 p.m.
