READ TIME: 2 MIN.

On Thursday, December 7, SAGE, the nation's largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT elders, will celebrate the renaming of its SAGE Midtown SAGE Center -- the first LGBT senior center in the country. SAGE Center Midtown will become The Edie Windsor SAGE Center, in honor of its beloved friend, hero, and supporter.

"Edie Windsor brought so much light to our community, with her pink lipstick smile, her iconic hat tilted just so, and her willingness to be a beacon of hope for us all," says Michael Adams, CEO of SAGE. "That's why we are proud to dedicate The Edie Windsor SAGE Center in honor of a woman who loved us and fought for LGBT equality and LGBT elders with all her might."

Join friends and supporters to celebrate the dedication of the SAGE Center to Edie Windsor and pay tribute to the woman who paved the road to marriage equality.

SAGE is the country's largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) older adults. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in New York City, SAGE is a national organization that offers supportive services and consumer resources to LGBT older adults and their caregivers, advocates for public policy changes that address the needs of LGBT older people, provides education and technical assistance for aging providers and LGBT organizations through its National Resource Center on LGBT Aging, and cultural competency training through SAGECare. Headquartered in New York City, with staff across the country, SAGE also coordinates a growing network of affiliates in the United States.

The event will be held on Thursday, December 7, from 6-8 p.m. at SAGE National Headquarters, 305 Seventh Avenue, 15th Floor, New York City 10001.
